| Annual
Southwest Michigan Dulcimer Festival 2007 great success!! |
| Everything
was perfect last weekend. Good sunny weather, nice people,
a relaxed atmosphere and lots of just wonderful music. One
of the main contributers was Dan Landrum, who played the
stars out of the sky on his dulcimer. Striking was how many
people from Three Rivers joined the festival in September
2007.
Host at Lakeside Melodies and dulcimer player for many years
was Bill Bosler
Your first response?
'This was an amazing experience. People were happy and the
music was
good.
We always get visitors from all over the country, but this
year lots of people from Three Rivers came. They said it
was just what they missed in this area.'

What
events were popular?
'Friday night was more of a warming up, busy enough though
and a nice night. But Saturday was just great, lots of people
all day, enjoying the workshops. I'm thankful we had excellent
workshop leaders, each of them! And a good audience for
the concert at night. The attendance for the gospel singing
on Sunday morning was a bit less. That had to do with some
people leaving early, because they had a long drive ahead,
but still. That gospel singing is really an appropriate
thank you for a wonderful weekend.'
Next year?
' I really hope we can have this festival again at Lakeside
Melodies. I will do anything I can to make that happen.
Folk music really unites people in a good way.'

February
and June
Open Stage is always a lot of fun!
Lakeside Melodies wants to be a regular stage for local
and regional artists. In 2007 we had two great Open
Stage nights in February and June with lots of
musical talent showing up. One of the favorites of the
audience was the band Deadwood.
Check our Concerts Agenda regularly and join us next time.
Experienced and unexperienced singers and musicians are
welcome.

Lakeside
Melodies on Beatles promo tour!

The promo-team for the Beatles Tribute (Carla, Anna, Tom,
Bill and Eric ) hit Three Rivers in 2007! Lots of businesses
in town were very supportive of Lakeside Melodies and put
up flyers for the Beatles Tribute. We also had radio spots
on WLKM, a local radio station with the
greatest music. And the promotion has helped, lots of people
showed up.
Thanks, Three Rivers! |

Hey
Jude! That was one great night!!
Jim Oliver and friends did a great job on bringing The Beatles
alive in August 2007 at Lakeside Melodies Music Hall. An enthusiastic
audience from Three Rivers and the surrounding area sang along
with the famous Beatles-songs.

Next to Jim Oliver, we had Rene Meave, Greg Braton, Julie Mackie
(with daughter) and Kjell Croce on stage, each of them absolute
wizards on guitar and great singers as well.
Most of the guests were real Beatles lovers, who didn't need the
handed out 'cheat sheets' with song text.

Because of the good response, Lakeside Melodies Music Hall is
planning on doing more theme nights.
Thank you, Jim Oliver and friends, for a wonderful performance.
And thank you, Three Rivers, for showing up in still growing numbers.
