Nature people love the place

Do you like nature? Love animals? Then you will like Lakeside Melodies.
Meet the animals that live at and around the resort.

Deer
Deer live in the woods and around Little Pleasant Lake. Sometimes you see them drinking water on the shores. Or, if you are lucky, you can see them next to our Folk Cottage. Another good way to spot them: walk up the hill at dusk and be very quiet. They come up there to
eat berries from the trees. Bring a flash light, but make sure you don't scare them away.
++++++

Cardinal
The Cardinal or the Northern Cardinal is one of the prettiest birds you will see on our property. The male is bright red, the female is brownish.
Wild turkey
In the woods up the hill you can sometimes spot wild turkeys when they rush around in the bushes. Recently spotted: a complete family with nine young ones.
Canada goose
Although we don't always like these visitors, you will definitely see some Canada geese. Somehow they seem to love our beach and keep coming back.
Ducks
Our cute white duck Alex has been living at Lakeside Melodies since the start three years ago. He's on his second marriage. First wife Maximá died, which was very sad, but he's happy again with his two new girls Ariane and Amalia (Amalia is the talkative one). In winter they live in the creek, the rest of the year they roam around the property. If you would like to feed them, ask us, it's fun!

Cats
We have three friendly cats. White Sox (picture) is very pettable. Freckles is shy, but just as sweet. New is: Obama, our First Black Cat in the history of Lakeside Melodies. If you don't want them to beg at your barbecue, then don't feed them.
Turtles
Little Pleasant Lake is famous for it's turtles. Watch this snapper!

Groundhogs, raccoons
They look cute, but we're not always happy to see these guys. Groundhogs dig under buildings, but don't do much harm. Raccoons, even cuter, dig into anything, so we're always watching them to stay out of our buildings. Don't worry, if we catch them, we don't harm them, but find them a new home.
