| A
bit of history
Before the present owners bought the place, Lakeside Melodies
was a church camp and a christian retreat for decades. Present
owner Bill Bosler still remembers those days: 'As a child I
loved to come here. That must have been in the late sixties, early
seventies. It has changed some, but the lake and the grassy fields
are still as inviting.'

Previous
owners, minister Charles Gerbert and his wife Carol, called it
'Living Waters'. They had the property for 12 years, until March
2006. They held church and gave bible lessons to children in the
schoolbuilding that is still on the property.
If we go back even further in history, we find out that the place
started around 1900 as a farm. Nowadays the property is 15 acres
large, but back then it was a lot bigger. The family of farmers
was called the Spence family. The road, we still drive on today,
is called after this family: Spence Road. |
If
anyone knows more about the history of this place, we'd love to
hear all about it!
But as far as we can tell, farmers, ministers, children, everybody
loved the same thing about this property. The rolling green hills,
the beauty of Little Pleasant Lake, the pretty creek, the quietness
of the woods, deer coming out in the early mornings, the friendly
atmosphere...
The owners since early 2006, Bill and Carla welcome you to a place
with a history, that has so much future. |

Even in winter, the place looks lovely.
